It was a night of glitz, glamour and history as one of Nigeria’s biggest music reality shows came to an extraordinary end with the emergence of the Port Harcourt born Mercy Chinwo as the new Nigerian Idol. The competition ran for about 5 months and got fiercer with the last 2 contestants. Eventually Mercy beat Joe Blue (Joe Anthony Ekpo) to become the reigning Nigerian Idol winning a whooping sum of N7.5 Million plus full recording contract.
However, in the history of many music reality shows, the second place winners have always gone ahead to become the most popular and successful compared to actual winners. Well, do you see that happening between Joe Blue and Mercy Chinwo? Time, time, time will tell. Congrats girl.
