Actors Van Vicker, Uche Jombo and Others Detained by Police in Lagos

Popular movie actor, Van Vicker was on Thursday, May 3, 2012, involved in an incident with law enforcement agents, leading to his detention at a Police Station in Surulere, Lagos State.

The Ghanaian actor, in company of colleague and star actress, Uche Jombo, among others, were detained at the Bode Thomas Police Station of the force during shooting of a movie within the area.

According to reports, the actors were shooting a scene of a movie which required the use of a Police Station and props, but were halted in the process by policemen from the Bode Thomas division of the force for vague reasons.

The Song "Only Me" was not Written for Mikel Obi, Tuface Clears the Air

You guys remember that in 2010, when the song “only me” gained massive airplay, the news had spread that 2face recorded the song to spite Chelsea player Mikel Obi.

But at his ‘Buckwyld and Breathless’ concert on Monday, 2face Idibia finally cleared the air on his relationship with Super Eagles and Chelsea FC midfielder Mikel Obi. He was about performing the hit song ‘Only me’ when he paused the live band set and asked everyone to listen up…

‘They say I wrote this song (Only me) for Mikel. I did not do this song for Mikel Obi. Mikel Obi is a wonderful and talented footballer. So please stop spreading the rumours’.

The story was fuelled by the lyrics of the song; even though Idibia mentioned no names..

2face said in a recent interview with thenetng ‘It’s just some people who know how to spread rumours, I need to meet the person that started the rumour because it really travelled’

N2Billion Naira Lawsuit Filed Against Bishop Oyedepo to get Hearing

The clergyman has come under attacks for slapping a member of his congregation during an exorcism service
The N2billion suit instituted against the founder of the Living Faith Christian Church International, Bishop David Oyedepo, for slapping a young lady in his church would be heard at the Ogun State High Court on May 2nd.
Robert Igbinedion, the lawyer who filed the suit on behalf of the young lady, two weeks ago, is seeking the court to award N2billion as 'general and exemplary damages' against the flamboyant pastor.

Another Bomb Explosion in Taraba- Number of Deaths Yet Confirmed

 

An explosion has been reported in Jalingo, capital of Taraba State. The incident occurred near government offices in the city. Parts of the finance ministry were affected by the explosion.

The explosion which occurred about 9 a.m. appeared to have been targeted at the convoy of the state's Commissioner of Police. Ibiang Mbasike, the spokesperson for the Police in Taraba has confirmed the attacks.

Three police officers are reported to have died in the explosion, which happened barely 24 hours after another bomb blast in Bayero University Kano. Many have been seriously injured as the attacks come during the early morning rush hour.
It is unclear if the Commissioner of Police, Usman Gwary, was killed in the blasts, but the suicide bomber, a dispatch rider and at least eight others have been confirmed dead.

Meanwhile another bomb was this morning detected and successfully defused in Yola, the capital of neighbouring Adamawa state while reports reaching us indicate that there may have been at least two other bomb blasts, one in Gombe, the capital of Gombe state, the other in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

The money making brothers will hit Cameroun in May to headline the MTN African Music Nite 2012 gig.

According to the organizers, the two-part event will be held on May 18 and 20 in Yaoundé and Douala respectively. The Okoye brothers are major stars across Francophone Africa where they regularly headline stadium concerts.

Tuface's Son Zion Turns 4 Today

Sunmbo before breaking up with Tuface back in 2009 bore two kids for the pop star – Zion and his elder brother Nino. Sunmbo recently told a celebrity magazine she’s broken up with Idibia. It's no news that Tuface is however set to wed Annie in a matter of months.

$200 Million Entertainment Fund: FG may have Commenced Disbursement

The Nigerian Export Import Bank (NEXIM) may have started disbursing the $200 million fund pledged by President Goodluck Jonathan to support the Nigerian entertainment industry.

NEXIM Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Roberts Orya, while speaking at a press briefing held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Victoria Island,Lagos, said the partnership signified the flag-off of NEXIM’s support for film production which was promised in 2011 by the Federal Government to help grow capacity in the entertainment industry.
