Critics Say Iceprince Does Not Deserve the Best African Artiste Award (VGMA)

We recently reported that homeboi Ice Prince won the VGMA - Vodafone Ghana Music Awards which was recently held in Accra as the Best African Artiste.

Now industry peeps be thinking he (Iceprince Zamani) does not deserve the award. According to critics, The ELI album was not much of a success compared to D'Banj's and even Wizkid's who are in the same category. Only his (iceprince) debut single with label mate Brymo was groundbreaking.

What qualifies him for the Best African Artiste award in a category that had A-list Nigerian players like D'banj, Naeto C, Wizkid and Duncan Mighty?

Gen Gen, Don Jazzy Replies D'Banj

Nigerian producer, President and CEO of the Mohit’s Record label, Don Jazzy has spoken out on the recent wave of attacks by artist, singer and former (if correct to say) Vice President of Mo’hits, Dapo “Kokomaster Dbanj” Oyebanjo.
In an exclusive interview with Don Jazzy, who started off by saying he never wanted the issue to become this messy, even as he was aware of the way and manner social media has changed the way people view issue surrounding the lives of celebrities; a reason he said was why he’s always cautious of what he says and the interviews he grants to the media.
Both industry power-weights have been at loggerhead over alleged multiple financial disagreements, discrepancies involved in the signing of artist Dbanj into Kanye West’s Good Music record label, Don Jazzy’s lackadaisical attitude, Dbanj’s alleged public irresponsibility among other differences and conflicts that popped up between both.

D'Banj: How Don Jazzy Betrayed Our Friendship- New Interview

This is a long one regarding the feud between D'banj and Don Jazzy written by Ayeni Adekunle of Thenetng.com .
There’s an important person in that building, right?’ the cab driver asked. ‘Important musician?’ I nodded, too tired to let any curious driver drag me into a conversation. He got the message and left me alone the entire drive from Canary Wharf to the London Marriot Hotel, in Grosvenor Square.
Then, as I got down to get my suitcase from the trunk, he gave me a knowing look, smiled, and said ‘are you the musician?’ ‘Of course not’, I said to him, smiling this time. ‘The musician is in Canary Wharf, his name is D’banj’. Silence. Confused look. ‘D’banj?
Yes, D’banj. He’s big in Africa. You know ‘Oliver Twist?’ Silence again, then as his final ‘no’ came, I said ‘Google him.

It was 4am on Saturday, April 21. I arrived in London eight hours earlier, and had spent almost all of that time chatting with D’banj, in his first interview with a Nigerian newspaper in a long time, and his first interview on the Mo’Hits brouhaha.
